A young lady, Esther Askosua Pekyi is reported to be on the run after attacking her boyfriend with acid around 1am on Thursday, June 25, 2015 over fears that he would break up with her. Esther Askosua Pekyi allegedly attacked her boyfriend ,Eric Ohemeng in a cab while her boyfriend was escorting her to her residence at Madina, Accra. Unfortunately, the cab driver was also drenched by the dangerous chemical during the struggle and has also been admitted to a hospital in Accra.
According to witnesses and friends, the couple had a quarrel the night before the incident. The man’s co-worker disclosed that, Esther and Eric had been in a relationship for the past 5 months but had recently faced a series of issues. Due to that, Eric decided to call it quits but was held back by suicide threats from Esther.During a visit to her lover on the said day, Esther is reported to have insisted to stay the night but was rebuffed by Eric who insisted on seeing her home in spite of the late hours. Esther then poured the attack on him after he had seen her into a cab and has since not been seen.
The incident occurred at Madina in Accra and the Police are searching for the suspect who has been in hiding since then.The Public Relations Officer of the Accra Regional Police Command ASP Effia Tenge says her outfit has intensified their search for the lady.
