and was able to jump two years - finishing at the age of 16 rather than
18 - and head straight to university.

singing with members of her musical family in Africa who plucked her as
lead singer.
Over the years, Tkay has been uploading clips of her singing on YouTube, just for fun, as she pursues a music career full-time.
Despite
becoming a global name within a short amount of time, Tkay abstains
from drinking as she remains focused on stardom despite insisting she
never really courted fame and won't be immersing herself in the
celebrity lifestyle any time soon.
Enjoying her talent: Her first

to go out all the time - I don’t. I don’t do drugs, basically don’t
drink at all.'
'It wasn’t that I wanted to be huge; I just wanted to make a cool song,' she added to News.com.au.

lashed out at Tkay for rapping in an Australian accent when she was born
in Zimbabwe, despite growing up Down Under.
She
explained to the Guardian: ' One said ‘She’s not from Australia, why’s
she rapping in an Australian accent? She needs to rap in a Zimbabwean
accent.’ It’s like, what are you talking about?'
