chilling message from beyond the grave has emerged for the family of
Reece Harding, an Australian who was killed in Syria as he fought with
Kurdish forces against IS.
'If anything happens to me- my parents I love you. Brother, I love you. And Isabelle, I love you.'
The
Lions of Rojava posted a touching video of Mr Harding to social media
on Friday 'for the Family his girlfriend and comrades of our Lion Heval
Bagok Australi'.

is believed to have been recorded in May, two months before Mr Harding
stepped on a mine and was killed during a night operation with the Lions
of Rojava.
Dressed in camouflage as he stands in the desert, Mr Harding explains why he left Australia to fight in the war-torn country.
'I believe the western world is not doing enough to help,' he said.
'The Kurdish people are lovely people and I've never met such a lovely group of people.'
Mr Harding recorded the message in case he was killed in battle.
His final words were a message of love for his family and girlfriend back home

his countenance. Well our brother Reece is the perfect example of such a
man. He was brave like a Lion and had a heart of gold.'
The Kurdish fighters relayed news of Mr Harding's death using their Facebook page last week.
The group also posted a collection of images that are understood to have taken during Mr Harding's time in Syria.

Mr
Harding's grieving father, Keith, said the 23-year-old told his family
that he was doing humanitarian work in Nepal, however, he had feared
that Mr Harding was somehow involved in the region's conflict, the ABC reported.
Keith
Harding was notified of his son's death after he received a message on
Monday asking him to call an international phone number.
It was then strange voice on the other line told him that his son had perished in battle, leaving him feeling 'numb'.
A MyCause page has emerged asking for funds to repatriate Mr Harding.
Mr Harding told his family he was performing humanitarian work in Nepal but they feared he had joined the conflict in Syria
'Today we pray for our beloved brother who came from far away to do what had to be done!' the post read

Scott, also known as Ashely Dyball, a 23-year-old former international
junior bench press champion from Brisbane who fought alongside Mr
Harding, shared the fundraising page on his Facebook with the comment:
'Help his family bring him home ! Every cent counts!'
At
the time of publication the page had raised $4,753, but it is not known
if the Harding family have received any of the donated funds.

According to the post, five other soldiers were injured during the attack and are currently in hospital
'There are no words that can value the sacrifice, but there are actions that can be taken which can honour him,' the post read
